JVC Unveils New Video Products For 2008

New video product announcements today from JVC include an all-new Everio hard disk camera line, new MiniDV models, and new DVD/VCR recorders.

Colorful Everio Lineup For 2008 JVC’s new Everio hard disk cameras feature a new, super-slim design that makes them the world’s smallest hard drive cameras* on the market. The new Everio line also offers new functions that make operation simpler and more intuitive, and models available in four different colors.

. Comprising the five-model Everio G lineup for 2008 are four 680K-pixel models and one 7 Megapixel model. The four 680K-pixel cameras include two 30GB models and two 60GB models. The 30GB GZ-MG330 offers a 35x optical zoom, integrated Auto Illumi. Light and is available in three “gem” colors: sapphire blue, ruby red or diamond silver. The GZ-MG335 (available in diamond silver) offers the same functions as the MG330 and comes with an Everio Dock for easy connection and charging. The GZ-MG360 (onyx black) doubles storage capacity with its 60GB internal hard disk drive. The GZ-MG365 (onyx black) offers the same functions as the MG360 and comes with the Everio Dock. The 30GB models and the 60GB model each weigh just 0.8 lbs. (360g), including the battery.

Capping the 2008 Everio G lineup is the 30GB GZ-MG730, which features a higher-performance camera section with a 1/2.5-inch 7.38 Megapixel CCD with Primary Color Filter. It features a more rounded design that shows off the F3.5 KONICA MINOLTA LENS. With the ability to shoot high resolution digital stills up to 3072 x 1728 (16:9 mode) or 3072 x 2304 (4:3 mode) in size, the GZ-MG730 is an ideal dual-use camera. Serious enthusiasts will enjoy the additional pro-style shooting features, including Auto Flash, Program AE dial with Shutter Priority and Aperture Priority, Auto Exposure Bracketing, Backlight and Spotlight compensation, Natural and Vivid color settings, and Histogram Display.

New Mini DV Line Offers 35x Optical Zoom & New Compact Design The compact design of the new JVC GR-D870 and GR-D850 MiniDV camcorders belies a rich set of powerful features, such as a KONICA MINOLTA LENS with 35x optical zoom and a 2.7-inch 16:9 widescreen LCD monitor with automatic backlight control for easy viewing, even on a bright, sunny day. For low-light shooting there is also the built-in Auto Illumi-Light LED.

New Mini DV Line Offers 35x Optical Zoom & New Compact Design The compact design of the new JVC GR-D870 and GR-D850 MiniDV camcorders belies a rich set of powerful features, such as a KONICA MINOLTA LENS with 35x optical zoom and a 2.7-inch 16:9 widescreen LCD monitor with automatic backlight control for easy viewing, even on a bright, sunny day.

The GR-D870 provides a new level of versatility with Dual Recording and Live Slow features. With Dual Recording, users do not have to choose between shooting still images or video: still pictures can be taken while shooting video. Meanwhile, Live Slow – a feature unique to JVC – combines slow-motion video with live audio, a feature that is perfect for sports and other fast-moving action.

Both models come with an array of features to enhance ease-of-use and ensure top quality footage. The Stick Control on the LCD makes navigating menus and settings a one-finger operation, while the Data Battery lets the user know how much recording time remains. Other standard features include Multi-Language On-Screen to switch the on-screen display language, a dedicated Auto Button to instantly switch between auto and manual modes, and Power-Linked Operation, which switches the camcorder on as soon as the LCD monitor is opened.

Two New DVD/VCR Recorder Combos For 2008, JVC will offer two new DVD/VCR recorders. Both the ATSC tuner-equipped DR-MV100B and the DR-MV79B offer1080p upconversion via an HDMI output for the best quality video and audio and the convenience of both delivered through a single cable. Both also offer DivX playback, so video files downloaded from the internet can be conveniently archived to a DVD and played back from a disc. A front panel DV input makes it easy to connect a camcorder and transfer footage to a DVD disc or VHS videocassette. And both are compatible with –R/RW, +R/RW and DVD-RAM discs for recording and playback.

The DR-MV79B is tuner-free, but includes JVC’s Timer Link, a quick and easy solution for recording TV programs by connecting to a cable or satellite set-top box using an AV cable.

Upgraded DVD/VCR Combo and DVD Players The new HR-XVC11B/12S (B = black; S = silver) DVD/VCR combo include JVC’s Timer Link, a quick and easy solution for recording TV programs by connecting to a cable or satellite set-top box using an AV cable. The user selects the desired program using the set-top box electronic program guide and timer function. JVC’s new Timer Link feature senses the signal, automatically powers up the recorder and begins recording. Recording automatically stops and the recorder shuts off when the program ends.
